The Protégé Plus line is made from a sustainable synthetic material designed to retain the positive characteristics of natural kolinsky sable-hair, without the common annoyances such as shedding. Great brush!
The size 14 is just as good as the 12, just bigger! If you work bigger or want both sizes I recommend going for it but otherwise you probably don't need this one.
New fav brush!
I have had my eye on the kolinsky plus brushes for awhile but wasn't sure if needed or what size to start with + cost but I can't ever resist a good deal/sale when it comes to Trekell so I grabbed these brushes! Lovely brush, is perfect for line work even for such a large size! Obviously you can't do extremely small detail work but these still have their place and I think anyone can find some use for them but if new to this type of brush will take some practice to wield well. Size 12 I recommend for almost anyone!

The trekell Protege plus synthetic kolinskys are GREAT brushes. their points are spectacular and they move well on the paper and in the hand.
Sad you are discontinuing this brush
This was my go to brush for my workshops…. Excellent brush and much loved by my students.

I am very pleased with the additional brushes I have purchased. I am however distressed that this style will be discontinued. I have over sixty years of experience in watercolor art, and I give this product a very high mark of satisfaction.
