This month, we are hosting a Draw/Paint this in Your Style Contest with Trekell Pro Team Artist Sean Cheetham. 

Primarily a figurative painter, Sean is known for his technical prowess in achieving accuracy and harmony in his alla prima paintings. He credits his consistency to a deep understanding of drawing and a system of mixing colors which he uses to govern shadows, midtones and highlights. Sean’s selection of subjects and urban scenes convery a truthful and often raw spirit that makes his work distinctive and a contemporary testimony of our time.

For this contest, we are asking artists far and wide to recreate one out of three of Sean’s pieces, ”Kate”, “Boss of the Plains” or “Let it Burn”, in their own style using any drawing or painting method or medium. Once your piece is complete, post it to Instagram with the hashtag #trekellxcheetham for your chance to win a NOH/WAVE class (https://www.nohwaveacademy.com/products/sean-cheetham-portrait-drawing) with Sean Cheetham, and or one of Sean’s Limited Edition Brush Sets!

Sean is the first to admit that he is really rough on his brushes, but feels that Trekell brushes are very cooperative and hold up to his abuse. We’ve teamed up with Sean to create a Limited Edition Brush set designed for oil, acrylic, watercolor, ink and gouache. Sean says that it is an honor to be a part of the Trekell Pro Team and we say, it’s an honor to have him!

How it Works:

Once the entry period is closed, Trekell Pro Team Artist Sean Cheetham will choose a winner or multiple winners and that person(s) will receive a Sean Cheetham Limited Edition Brush Set (retail value $54.99). We will announce the winner(s) of the prize on May 1st. Post your entries using hashtag #trekellxcheetham each day.

How to Enter:

  • Recreate Sean Cheetham’s “Kate”, “Boss of the Plains” or “Let it Burn” in your own style.
  • To submit your entry, post your piece on Instagram from April 16th-30th, using #trekellxcheetham and tag @trekell_art_supplies
  • Sean will choose the winning piece(s) of art from the Instagram posts. Winner(s) will be announced on 05/01/2021.
  • The winner(s) will receive a Sean Cheetham Limited Edition Brush Set (retail value $54.99).
